Life has never been easy for Malachi Diaz. Since birth, he has never known what it was like to have a stable home environment. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to everyone, a coven of vampires has settled into the capital city of Kansas, led by the malevolent leader Byron. He seeks new recruits and sends his coven out to gather the chosen few. Malachi and his friends are thrust into the world of vampires and must fight to stay alive. However, a sudden revelation causes Malachi to embrace his newfound lifestyle in order to protect the people he loves. All of this leads to a climatic battle that pins the forces of darkness against itself. Malachi finds himself at the mercy of the Curse of the Feathered Serpent.
