あらすじ
Henrik Ibsen’s The Wild Duck, written in the late 19th century, is a five-act drama exploring the clash between truth and illusion through the Ekdal and Werle families. Hjalmar Ekdal, a photographer, lives with his wife Gina and daughter Hedvig, seemingly modestly yet burdened by hidden secrets and his father’s past. The return of Gregers Werle, an old friend, disrupts their fragile stability and brings suppressed tensions to light. The “wild duck” becomes a powerful symbol of retreat into illusion rather than confronting reality. The play examines deception, truth, and the lingering impact of past actions on present relationships.
