あらすじ
The inner temple of Hime high road, the Ori Pass, which is 300 meters above sea level, is famous for its history, and I have a cabin, ""Yu-an,"" on the mountainside. I feel the change of the four seasons, bathe in the flower blizzard of the mountain cherry tree in spring, and in summer doze while listening to the voice of the cicada in a refreshing breeze with the jade color of Lake Hamanako spreading in front of me. In autumn, I am surrounded by a carpet of golden tangerines, and my heart is filled with the autumn leaves of the mountains. In winter, I look at Inasa Pass to the east from Ori Pass, and to the west, I am fascinated by the beauty of the ridgeline of the Kosai Mountain Range.
I enjoy matcha tea and dishes made with fresh seasonal private farms and wild grass ingredients. I live my life with kacho-fugetsu (""kacho"" means the elegant heart which enjoys looking at a flower, and hearing birdsong. And ""fugetsu"" means the enjoyment of scenery of nature as food for the mind and heart) and kido-airaku (human emotions of joy, anger, pathos, and humor).
This book is a collection of haikus based on my life at my hermitage, Yu-an. I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Kunitake Nagasawa, Director of Bungeisha, Mr. Yuki Ouchi, and everyone in the First Editorial Department for their difficulties in making arrangements for publication. Thank you very much.
