In this beautifully illustrated book, Meri, a mermaid, and her friend Aloha, a dolphin, playfully introduce children to mindfulness techniques. Children are transported on an underwater adventure with Meri, where they are encouraged to follow the instructions for each mindfulness activity and then notice how they feel. Reading this book aloud, parents, caregivers, and teachers can lead children ages 4-8 in these easy relaxation techniques as they lay down before nap time or bedtime. The book is inspired by, and borrows from, an ancient meditation tradition called Yoga Nidra. Through the use of a specific sequence of mindfulness techniques, Yoga Nidra profoundly relaxes the body and quiets the mind. It also helps people learn to detach from their thoughts and simply observe them.
