Detective Jack Stevens has been a cop in Hawkins Lake for many years and has never needed a partner, when suddenly heas given a young rookie partner, whom he thinks belongs in Sports Illustrated. When a mysterious envelope shows up on Detective Stevensa desk, they find inside a videotape revealing a man being murdered. Now the two of them have to work together as a team to catch this unknown killer before he/she strikes again.
