Yerma has been married for more than two years but she is not a mother yet. His husband, Juan, does not really care since he just wants his wife to be faithful and stay at home, but Yerma knows that with a child she would not only be freer but also more mature. What she does not know is the reason of her barrenness. Actually the heart of the problem is not her but him! Some rumors even suggest that he is not a real man and, therefore, cannot have children.
