The Spiritual Gifts (Part 1): The Ascension Gifts of Christ and the Functional Gifts of God is the first part of a two part series on the spiritual gifts. It covers the ascension gifts of Christ (Eph 4:7,8,11), also called the office gifts or the five-fold ministry, and the functional gifts of God, also called the motivational gifts or the ministry gifts. The ascension gifts- apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher- are the leadership offices of the Church and are given by the ascended Christ to lead the Church and to perfect and equip the saints. The functional gifts of God- prophecy, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, managing, showing mercy- are the seven fundamental ways in which we function in the Body of Christ in ministering the Word of God and doing service. The purpose of this book is to help you better understand these gifts; discover, stir up, and develop your gifts; receive another gift; become more anointed in your ministry; and fulfill your calling in God. This is the revised edition and is in study outline format for easy reading and studying.
