The poems in "The Heart of a Bull" reflect 50 years of poetry and present the reader with an intimate insight into the authors quest for love and his journey through life. Theodies Mitchell Jr. was born in Birmingham Alabama. His father was in the US Army and he traveled with his father as he moved from base to base. He started school in Sasebo Japan. In 1969, he joined the US Air Force and retired in 1989. After retirement, he became a Public Health Advisor with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He retired from CDC after 21 years. Mitchell has been writing poetry since he was ten years old. He writes poems to express his feelings about significant experiences in his life. His poems allow him to step back and look at himself in a day-to-day role on the stage of life
