Breaking Up In Balwyn is 'site-specific' play set and performed on a Yarra river boat (the aptly named Yarra Princess) as it makes its way from Melbourne's CBD upriver to the wealthy suburb of Toorak and back. The audience are the invited guests of gay divorcee Smanatha Hart-Byrne who is determined to celebrate her separation from husband Michael. Along the way, several unexpected people gate crash the party, including the Tax Squad and Michael himself disguised as a gorilla-gram.
