"The Scary Snow Monster" "A Kid Hero Story" is the colorfully illustrated story of two very young brothers, Nick and Max, and their friend, Anaya who are home from school on a snow day. They decide to have some fun building a snowman and snow girl , and gather the items they need to decorate their snow creations. They are chatting about the rumor Max heard about a scary snow monster with icicle spikes. Suddenly, a big truck rolls by and the ground shakes. Something scary is happening! The children are faced with a giant , icy snow hand that springs up from the ground. and grabs Nick. A gigantic snow monster breaks through the ground howling with its dark eyes, spikes, and icicle teeth. As the "hands" of the giant snow monster grab hold of Nick, Max and Anaya must use their knowledge about snow and ice to defeat the monster. Nothing is more important to very young children than having a sense of who they are and where in this world they fit in. All children want to be heroes¿not necessarily super heroes but heroes that can conquer their fears both real and imagined.
