With the 2016 election of Donald J. Trump as the 45 President of the United States I chose to examine leadership from a biblical perspective. The foundation for my writing was extracted from a sermon presented by my Pastor, Rev. Dr. Ralph D. West, founder of the Church Without Walls in Houston, Texas. My manuscript reflects on the early days of the Trump administration and compares his model of leadership to King Abimelech, as displayed in the KJV Bible-Book of Judges. My research also questions the Evangelical response to the Trump administration. Through Leadership Matters I attempt to provide of glimpse of president Trump, his initial cabinet, and policies. Comments are documented from various expert reports to unravel the impact of the Trump administration on the American public and how the United States is viewed on the world stage. I also reflect on the differences between the Obama and Trump administration. The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC provide a cumulative report of several events that had taken place early in the Trump administration. The essence of Leadership Matters is to put forth elements of the Trump administration, and attempt to understand the Christian ideology as it relates to the current American president.
