The funeral of a seemingly dull, old international bank investment officer attracts the attention of the Chief of Police in Niagara Falls, New York, after a young man employed at the undertaking parlor is fired because he did not prevent two men from photographing and fingerprinting the corpse. The question is who had the interest in the dead man and why? What was only a curious matter at first becomes a serious mystery when the RC Bishop of New York State and his Attorney pay a surprising social call on the Chief of Police and are not too subtle in seeking to dispel his interest in the incident. A spiral of international criminality draws the Niagara Falls City police, the Mossad, and the Canadian RCMP into an investigation of a criminal enterprise, which includes a foreign bank controlled by the Holy See in Rome.
