Launched in 1941, the German battleship Tirpitz (sistership to the famous Bismarck) quickly became the largest and fastest warship in Hitleras arsenal. She packed massive naval guns, armor plating that was nearly impenetrable, and boasted a speed that made her very difficult to catch. But due to the increasing concern of the FA1/4hrer, she only fired her guns in anger once, and never set out to do what she was built for. Nevertheless, the Tirpitz became such a threat to Britainas efforts to keep her supply lines and those of the Soviet Union open, that destroying aThe Beasta was something that had to be done no matter what the cost in equipment or lives. This is the true story on how this massive steel fortress was brought to bay, with the help of top-secret technology such as midget submarines, human torpedoes, mammoth armor-piercing bombs, and the raw courage and determination of the men who risked everything to get the job done.
