This is a collection of short stories that reads like a novel. Starting with the juvenile innocents of tubing down a turbulent flooding river in California, the ride doesn't stop. The adventure continues with riding freight trains and hitchhiking across the United States, and then purchasing marijuana in the remote mountains of Mexico. On to buying hashish in the exotic and tempestuous streets of Beirut. The years of heroin addiction and the subsequent untimely arrest in California. And the prison years, where drug and alcohol use and abuse are prevalent.Panhandling for cheap wine in Oregon. And the enervating decline with drug abuse, prostitution, and the final dissolution. It's a ride the reader won't soon forget. This medley of the pugnacious struggle with indomitable drugs is told with the mellifluous voice of a valid raconteur. The humorous vein found in adverse conditions is refreshing.
