Tammy Wynette, born Virginia Wynette Pugh on May 5th, 1942, Tremont, Mississippi, U.S, was a country music singer-songwriter, one of country music's best-known artists. Wynette had 20 chart-topping songs during the late 1960s to early '70s. Tammy was labelled the "First Lady of Country Music," with her most famous song, "Stand by Your Man," being one of the best-selling hit singles by a woman in the history of country music.
