African Ark, An Apocalypse Now is Catherine's first art photography book. When Catherine travelled in Africa 27 years ago, she always knew she would return. In 2017 she climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak and in doing so, met Tanzanian Emmanueli- a chance meeting that was to change the trajectory of her career. She set about to fundraise through her photography to help him achieve his dream of an education- a Diploma in Safari Guiding and Wildlife Management. This book captures the vanishing beauty of the habitats and iconic animal species of east and west Africa. It shows the world what it is in danger of losing forever. We all have a responsibility to look after our world, before it is too late. We are on the cusp of a catastrophic disaster on earth driven by global warming. Never before have so many species of animals been in danger of extinction, largely due to man's inability to co-exist with nature. It is this ancient Ark for which we are all still responsible. The animals do not have a voice, but we certainly do.This book is Catherine's way to raise funds contributing to the ongoing efforts of the African people to protect their wildlife and ensure the survival of its many endangered species. Through the provision of an education to those who have a passion for their environment and its ecosystems, we can all contribute to the conservation and protection of African wildlife.
