Doyle and Reese Jenkinson are two brothers with active minds and a love for nature. Their summer explorations lead them to some very important artifacts that disrupt their carefree days. The complications of archeological rights and research cause the boys' precious finds to be taken from them in the name of science. However, the artifacts become part of an illegal scam in the hands of a crooked scientist. As the story unfolds, adult perspectives lead to humorous miscommunications and an unsuspected encounter with time travel. While the boys watch the activities associated with their ancient Indian jar and diary, a pair of wet socks, innocently placed in the Indian jar by Reese, make its way all the way back to the 400s to a village farmer named Leonard.
