For a moment, Seymour didn’t know what to say, but he found himself so touched by the old man's story, that he soon felt compelled to share some of his own struggles and experiences, although, compared to this man, he felt his life had barely even started. Well, it had started now, he reminded himself. The flight passed in a blur, and before they knew it, they had landed in Brazil. Seymour, an unassuming man from a small Australian town knows nothing of earth that isn’t red and dusty—and nothing of foreign soil—that is until he embarks on a journey through South America, led only by the vague idea of waterfalls and toucans and the desperate desire to escape. Navigating the peaks and valleys of his own mental health, new relationships, new ingredients and a new career.
