This book describes the life and death of Simon the Zealot, one of Jesus' twelve disciples. It follows the death of Simon's best friend Lazarus to Simon's death during the siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE. During his life, Simon witnesses the conversion of Saul, goes to Rome to help administer the Christian Church there, marries a wife who is killed by Nero, and returns to Jerusalem to assist in that Church body's administration.
