The Last Lone Wolf

In an age characterized by increasing levels of loneliness, God is inviting us to remember that it was not His plan that we experience life alone. On the contrary, He has placed within our reach the great gift of lifelong, intimate friendships, one of natural life's greatest sources of happiness. Why don't we take this gift more seriously? Why is Friendship so marginalized in modern western society? Because we are mostly highly-driven, task-oriented people who have no idea how much our pursuit of our own agenda is costing us in the realm of interpersonal relationships? Is there anything we can do to change our values to such an extent that Friendship would become the high priority God intended it to be in our lives once again? For so long we have enshrined "The Lone Wolf" as our cultural ideal: can we learn to see that there is a much happier and healthier way to journey through life?
