A quartet of adventurers venture into the desert wastes of Egypt, seeking a lost tomb within the mountain known as the Scarab's Back. Their quest successful, they return to the city of Koptos to celebrate. A fearsome magical storm lashes the landscape for weeks while rumours tell of fierce monster attacks and plague. When the Husks of the buried dead begin to rise, they are left with little hope of escape.
