“I’ll build you a home, Maa” -This book depicts the plight of those people who are toiling under rain and sun at the cost of their lowly paid wages to build a home for you, but throughout their lives, they remain homeless. Even each brick of your home carries the smell of their blood and sweat, yet, the counterintuitive deodorant in you, nooses your nose. This deodorant in you didn’t deter Akash, a highly acclaimed Structural Engineer, who happens to be a member of the construction workers’ community vowing to emancipate the entire construction workers community from the curse of slavery that has been shadowing them for several generations. Through this book, Akash tries to send a message to his fellow community members across the country that none of those social workers, social reformers, social engineers, leaders, NGOs, politicians, or ministers worth their salt can emancipate them and their families from the slavery, although people of these categories are often found ensuring their emancipation publicly to glorify their individual images. The onus lies on him and his fellow community brothers only to emancipate their parents from this shackle of slavery. Akash and his fellow friends living under that leaky shanty at the construction site along with their parents and brothers and sisters since their childhood, and having experienced those ordeals which so far kept their parents from thinking big, but they thought big against all odds, and despite having the right to education, they educated themselves first. Thus, having reached the position of an acclaimed Structural Engineer, Akash enjoys the right to vouch for himself and his fellow brothers of the construction workers’ community that each of them shall build a home for his mother. Now, Akash with his education and position has already stepped into the shoes of those people living in the higher strata of society, and their so-called image as an ultimate crusader of humanity gets a sudden jerk when Maya, a highly qualified beautiful young lady of their society fell in love with Akash! Although Akash’s globally reputed Structural and Architectural Engineering Company gave him a place next to its CEO, this couldn’t be digested by its competitors and adversaries. They sabotaged an offshore building project, not much for losing that Project in the competitive bid, but more for the involvement of Akash in it as its Chief Structural designer. So, when an Industry that is thriving on the blood and sweat of its workers, can’t even stand one of its workers' sons sitting at the helm of one of its companies, being a member of that higher strata, how successful Maya would be to help Akash to rub his shoulder with fellow members of her society, that remains to be seen!
