DEFIANCE (Sex, Drugs & Guns in the 1980's) is an action, revenge, thriller set in Los Angeles in the 1980's. Solomon was Jack's drug dealing, mentor, back in Miami. Solomon took Jack off the street when he was just a teenager and introduced him to the glamorous and dangerous world of drug dealing. Years have past, Jack now lives in Los Angeles with his airline stewardess, girlfriend, Angie. He is building a new life for himself with Angie. That is - until a so called "chance encounter" in a park with his old friend and mentor, Solomon, who is now a successful arms dealer. Solomon is there for a meeting with one of his associates, Dexter. Solomon asks Jack to join him as a partner in his new enterprise, which is now pushing west into Los Angeles. Jack turns him down, but not before two dark figures take pictures of him, mistaking him for Dexter. It seems that Solomon running into Jack at the park is not a coincident, because the meeting with Dexter is about recruiting Jack in hopes of using his stewardess girlfriend for smuggling purposes. Meuller, Solomon's archrival, has sent his thugs to the park to kill Dexter and Solomon. Jack successfully fends off the assailants, killing one of them in the process. Meuller is displeased with this, but seizes the opportunity to get to Solomon and Dexter through Jack, who is now a marked man: numerous attempts are made on his life, his sister is assaulted, and his girlfriend is kidnapped. Jack and Solomon set out to rescue Angie. These events have taken a toll on Jack, both mentally and physically. Unlike Solomon, Jack does not know the real reason why he is a marked man. He thinks it is for killing the gang member during the altercation in the park. It is questionable as to whether Solomon is a true friend or is he just leaving Jack twisting in the wind.
