Murder for Axton Preston has a whole new meaning. Fifty-year-old, unreliable narrator and longtime Woodchester resident, Axton Preston, is a suspect in the Bully Murders in present day New York. For nearly 30 years, undesirable, abusive and violent women have turned up dead. Manipulative, conniving bully wives, bully women, have been a huge plague in the life of Axton as well as in the lives of those he cares for dearly. He had had enough and began to methodically wipe out these women, and anyone complicit, from existence. Refusing to associate as a serial killer, since college age he has cemented in his mind that he's a crusader, a modern-day vigilante who decided to put an end to all "evil" women that have caused nothing but pain and wrecked relationships. Axton feels it's his duty to help restore dignity and any hope to all troubled men that have endured misery in their lives. Veteran police detective, Shane Nielson, who had given the murders its label, found it strongly suspicious that all the mean women in town are dead, and had speculated that Axton is involved with the deaths because of his vocal disgust of bully women. He will do whatever it takes to catch Axton in the act and put a stop to his serial killing crimes.
