あらすじ
After 22 years as a college coach, Randy Albertson is thinking about making a change in his life. A new athletic director, John Bart, has come in and a restless alumni group has Randy in their sites. As the season winds down he calls his friend, Adam Chadwick, a successful car dealer in Salt Lake City and tells him of his frustration. Adam suggests working for him which Randy promises to consider. John Bart works behind the scenes to secure a buy-out of Randy's contract and the school President gives the go-ahead to let Randy go once the season concludes but the team plays well and wins the conference tournament to move on to nationals. Bart is forced to keep Randy as the team finishes second at the national tournament. Randy decides to retire from coaching and tells his family what he has done. Brenda is hurt that Randy didn't consult her as she has an excellent job and the kids don't want to move. Randy, surprised by their reaction, works on winning them over. The family move to Salt Lake and Randy begins working for Adam. After a promising start a series of calamities befall Adam and Randy is swept up in the tide. Randy and Brenda go into serious debt and he tries to get unemployment but because he quit his previous job is not eligible for benefits. Meanwhile, Brenda is trying desperately to find a new job but because of the recession nobody is hiring.
