あらすじ
This book is based on the author's 1971 Letts Schoolboy Diary and is a record of a young man growing up in an older Edinburgh. It is the second volume in a projected Edinburgh trilogy. It records a momentous year in his life set during an unsettled period of family and school life. His parents divorce and remarry; he meets a lifelong friend; and after tentative visits to Meadowbank Sports Centre they meet a remarkable coach who will end up transforming their lives for the good. The journal tells the story of the protagonist's search for a positive way forward in life, amongst a river of self-doubt and a stream of chutzpah, all set against the background of the culture of the day. 'The 'Hero's Journey.'
