あらすじ
During her short life, blonde bombshell, Marilyn Monroe, became a huge sex symbol, a superstar in the movies from the late 1950s to early 1960s. Between 1947 and 1961, she appeared in nearly 30 films. Like most actors, she started at the bottom in minor roles. After years of small parts, her performances in "The Asphalt Jungle" and "All About Eve" (both 1950) drew the attention of 20th Century Fox which signed her to a seven-year contract. From then on, she was on her way to the top, landing her first leading role in "Don't Bother to Knock" (1952), followed by a lead role in "Niagara," a melodramatic film noir. Over time Monroe demonstrated that she was more than a sex symbol. She had great comedic ability in "Some Like It Hot" (1960) and was more than the "dumb blonde" in "Bus Stop" (1956). The "Marilyn Monroe Movie Poster Book - Revised Edition" showcases--and celebrates- Monroe's successful film career by presenting more than 50 never-before-published posters and lobby cards, all in full color and in chronological order. In addition, there is a special gallery of vintage images from Marilyn's early roles. There are also sections containing samples of posters from foreign releases and compilation films. Compared to the book's first edition, poster art has been digitally improved for sharper reproductions. And, whenever needed, to strive for the best possible quality reproduction, posters which were not sharp or marginal in quality in the first edition have been replaced in this revised edition.
