This book contains 12 chapters, dealing each one with a specific theme related to the Portuguese capital. Each chapter is like a tile, and all together they build a mosaic of the city, showing it from many different perspectives and angles, offering thus an interesting, still subjective view. This is an invitation to the reader to 'see' Lisbon through my very eyes. I have the privilege to be simultaneously an insider and an outsider. Let me explain: I am an insider because I was born and grew up in Lisbon. But I am an outsider too, since I lived abroad for approximately two decades and, when I came back, I had to re-visit and re-discover my own home town, as if I were a stranger. My wish to see beyond the obvious led me to do lots of research, and I was lucky enough to discover many fascinating details and stories I am now sharing with you. An enjoyable journey, filled with surprises.
