These forty stories recount Matthew Robinson's two period of working on EastEnders, once the BBC's top-rated show. The stories cover his involvement in the run-up to and aftermath of the programme's launch, first aired on 19 February 1985. He'd been hired as 'Lead Director' and directed many of the show's early episodes including the episodes 1 and 2. After a decade of working on other projects, he returned to EastEnders with the title of Executive Producer. His brief was clear: to get the show back up on both feet. His two years of achieving that earned him the long-running tabloid nick-name of 'The Axeman of Albert Square'.
