The crew of The Endurance are trapped in the Antarctic ice in 1915. As their predicament deteriorates, they are beset by Lovecraftian creatures and offered salvation from a Lady of the Lake, who claims the region as jurisdiction and names Ernest Shackleton as a rightful champion of men. But another Lady is already here, and she has chosen her champion to mold as she will, despite his objections. Now they wrestle with questions of fate and sovereignty among threats older than the stars themselves.
