Many residents know the basic facts seared into Rockland County's history on October 20, 1981. Homegrown 1960s terrorists resurfaced in Nanuet, robbing a Brinks truck to fund their twisted form of revolution. They killed Brinks guard Peter Paige and gravely wounded Joseph Trombino, who had two more brushes with terrorists at the World Trade Center, where he died on September 11, 2001.
