A musical set in a country diner in 1970 in the southern United States. A group of musicians seek shelter when their automobile needs repairs. The travelers meet some of the local residents and their differences, and similarities, are uncovered. Their interactions force all of them to confront the challenges of America's awakening consciousness as it relates to the era of Civil Rights and racial equality, basic human dignity, the Women's Liberation Movement, sex, drugs, rock and roll, and the role music plays in Human communications and interpersonal relationships.
