The Founders came back 150 years in time to save the Earth. The changes they made set right a climate change that portended the end of humanity and put human culture on the path to near utopia. They even took their hyperspace technology and made a star drive to take them to the edge of the Oort Cloud. However, no-one expected what they would find there.
