Timber Layne

あらすじ
Being the only offspring of the deadliest witches of the age was excruciating for Timber. Especially after his parents, the notorious Death Layne, destroyed their home trying to escape arrest, leaving Timber homeless and them locked away. No one wanted Timber, so he roamed the mangy city streets until the start of term when he could return to Haven High, a boarding school built deep underground to protect the world from the unruly magic students below, hidden from sight and less likely to cause mass destruction. Besides the usual ill-mannered teens and bullies who attend Haven High, Timber must deal with the followers of Death Layne who want Timber to join them and don't mind forcing the issue with pain and harassment, making them formidable bullies and thugs. Without his best friend Astra and his crow-familiar Black to keep him sane, Timber would have no hope of avoiding following in his parent's footsteps. Being trained by Death Layne, the teachers of Haven High are skeptical that there is any good in Timber. They fear or hate him, especially since he ran off the last reform teacher. Luckily Simms, their new reform teacher, sees the good Astra sees in him and encourages Timber to come to terms with the PTSD of being raised by crazed, magic-addicted felons and pave a better future for himself, free from the terrors of living with Death Layne. When the school bully learns how to make Timber a tool of destruction and Death Layne escapes incarceration, Timber must fight to protect his only friends as well as his right to choose his own future. In the resulting battle, they will find out once and for all who's side Timber is really on.
