The Fence Still Leans: Volume 1 is the first published collection of poems by Irish-American writer Liam MacSeain. The poems began in December 2024, when Liam, then fourteen years old and living outside Chicago, wrote a poem while thinking about home in County Cavan. What began as a single reflection slowly grew into a collection shaped by memory, seasons, and the experience of moving between places. Across the poems, moments of Irish countryside life, changing seasons, and quiet observations of everyday life are brought together with reflections from the author on how and why each piece was written. The collection moves through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, following both the passing of time and the growth of the writer behind the words.
