The project took place in the tea vilalge Chayuan in China between 2019 and 2023. The core of the project is a close collaboration between school, community and the designers/architects to create a sustainable design for a school imbedded in its community. The project started in 2019 and was after its first phase interupted by the Covid pandemics. The difficulty to travel and the poor online connection in Chayuan made close collaboration and especially realisation of the designed spaces impossible. The project then focused on creating designs and getting feedback from people in Chayuan through online questionaiers. This falls short of the intended close collaboration. We still hope that the designs can be an inspiration for the people in Chayuan.
