As we approach the 80th anniversary of the beginning of WWII in 2019, it is hard to fathom that so much discussion continues to be devoted to the topic of the Holocaust and its aftermath. As a daughter of the Holocaust, I know all too well the impact that it has had on the members of the second and third generations of survivors. Being the child and grandchild of survivors has played a significant role in my life and continues to do so. I explore my family's history before, during and after the Holocaust; how they managed to survive when millions of Jews and others perished. In addition I look at the emotional impact that the Holocaust continues to have on us, even today. These important discussions continue to play an important role on the world stage and all over the global village in the hopes that open dialogues will prevent similar tragedies such as this one in the future and help to heal those who suffer from its repercussions.
