The Bible is full of whimsicality. Just consider Psalm 104:26- "There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it." We are given the image of a vast whale, a creature of God, just fooling around and having fun while God smiles on it all. Whimsicality is being fanciful and playful and imaginative and it's definitely there in the Bible. Yet, we tend to suppress this aspect of Scripture. That's too bad for those of us who love the quirks of life since those verses particularly speak to us. These devotional meditations seek to reflect this side of the Christian faith and to serve the unique pastoral needs of the whimsical heart.
