Throughout history, women have been excluded and their contributions dismissed. A Gallery of Our Own seeks to balance art history and art appreciation by teaching the artistic contributions of women. There is little information available about women artists. Even when they were able to make an impact in their own time it was rarely documented, or evidence was later destroyed. This series will teach about the artists, the art movements they were a part of, the history during the time period they lived, and the forms of art they created, as well as hands-on projects.Sophie Taeuber-Arp was a Dada artist who worked with embroidery, weaving, wood, dance, costuming, interior design and more.
