The offer of voluntary redundancy came at just the right time for Mary and Alan, inspiring them to buy a campervan, and set off around Europe on a great adventure, which took them to countries as diverse as Czech Republic, Switzerland and Denmark, exploring relatively unknown places as well as the more famous sights.
