A selection of 30 traditional Palestinian recipes prepared by ten newly arrived Gaza refugees to Sydney Australia. The book demonstrates the women's culinary skills, resourcefulness and courage. It explores how important herbs and amazing ancient herbs have still been used in delicious recipes. The book allows the reader to connect immediately through the art of cooking and universal need to nurture ourselves with wholesome food. Through this book, it humanizes the Palestinian people and especially women, who have sadly been intergenerationally extensively traumatized, we see the skill and pride that they have in their cuisine. The delicious meals educate us about Palestinian culture; create curiosity about their life as humans and reduce the negativity around people from Gaza generally. The book is a must for all schools and public libraries and positively contributes to conversations about social cohesion and the diversity of food in our multicultural society.
