The Bible teaches there are four types of children-wise, simple, foolish, and scornful-and every child, whether yours or mine, is going to fit into one of those categories. Nobody wants their children to be simpletons, foolish, or scornful. That's a down-ward spiral that will bring a lot of hardship and grief. We don't want our children going in that direction. We want to raise wise children.
