Ron was born in the summer of 1947 in a small rural town in South Georgia. His country roots held strong throughout his working life. Ron was raised on the family farm in Ocilla, Georgia. As a small child, his interest in airplanes kept the imagination growing. Ron dreamed every night that he was in the cockpit of that crop duster that was dusting his dad's crops. After a football scholarship to Memphis State, Ron returned home and crop dusting became a reality in 1978 when he got his crop dusting certificate. Not only was his flying centered on just crop dusting, he also was into aerobatics and served as president of the South Georgia Aerobatic Club in Tifton, Georgia. This led to doing air shows and precision competitions in aerobatics. Charter flying was in the mix as well. Keeping his roots to the agriculture industry, Ron stayed in the crop dusting business from 1978 to 2006. Ron is still in the agriculture business to this day.
