Murder on the Dunes

Murder on the Dunes, by Martin Sokoloff takes place mostly in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and recounts the story of a murder which occurs there on the Day of the Blessing of the Fleet, a special day observed by the area's commercial fishermen.The book's main character is Dennis Dawes, the Provincetown Chief of Police, who works together with the State Police, and helps in the solving of the crime, which includes drug smuggling, as well as murder.Murder on the Dunes almost replicates the lifestyle of the area: laid back; somewhat unstructured and, at times, seemingly without objectives. Perhaps that is its charm.
