"Peace and Harmony" are two words that clearly go hand-in-hand. Add music to the mix - and you've created a powerful trio that fashions the foundation for understanding how to achieve the goals of the Mideast peace process. We have already seen the Cold War thaw and know of the importance great musicians had in bridging the gap between Eastern and Western societies. We have seen and heard the power of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and The Beatles during the later half of the twentieth century to reach the hearts and minds of the populations of the communist world. The theatrical play and music of Hair had scores of young people burning their draft cards (avoiding combat to save their lives) in opposition to the war in Vietnam. Pink Floyd was instrumental in bringing down the Berlin Wall, while Bob Marley and Bob Dylan achieved legendary status with their social commentary and activism. The great musicians had a way of gathering people from very different backgrounds and belief systems together to find common ground in the beauty and spirit of music. These musicians spoke to populations and to young people with songs constructed out of fictional stories and non-fictional commentary to convey a unified message of peace, love, and harmony. So, in following their example, I have written this work for savvy young people who have not necessarily studied the Bible or the Qur'an but can see that the situations in Israel and Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq - together with the 9/11 disasters - are somehow affecting their lives or calling them to change and understand what is happening in the landscape of the world. This book is for them in order to provide a roadmap of the historical and prophetic doctrine, which is changing the terrain and culture in which we live. Book jacket.
