Yonder is a blend of the bright southern charm of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe shaded with the deep, slow chills of The Turn of the Screw. A few years back I found some letters my Grandmother (who grew up in the South) sent to my Grandfather during World War II, and from which ignited the spark for Yonder. Yonder takes place in Mississippi on the cusp of the US entering World War II. Isabel Deliah Jones, experiences a series of unfortunate birthdays, the first of which introduces her to Eli (the ghost of a 5-year-old boy) who reappears at crucial moment's in Isabel's life. Life at home was far from Idyllic, so Isabel escapes to New York City the first chance she gets. But the Big Apple sours quickly, and so she welcomes the summons back home to deal with her dying father. Once home, she is reunited with her estranged friends, including Benjamin and Charles, who both vie for her romantic attention. Besides dealing with her two competing suitors, she must also unravel the dark mystery that has taken over the Jones' estate. Yonder is filled with mystery, love, death, betrayal, history, ghosts, southern superstition, and a little baseball.
