A group of explorers seeking the ancient Greek gods atop Mount Olympus find what they're looking for, and more in horror author C. Dennis Moore's "Coming Down the Mountain".Goodmanson, Seamoon and Toomey didn't believe Barrett when he said he'd found it, but the man led the rest of his team directly to the ancient temple of the Greek gods themselves. The explorers begin to search the ruins, excited for their discover, until a small figure emerges, sleepy and confused as to who these men are. They discover they're talking to a real life god from legend, Hermes, the messenger. The team begins to plan the return of gods to the modern world, but there's one aspect of Hermes' legend the group wasn't aware of until its too late.C. Dennis Moore backs up this short horror story with another in a similar vein. A group of carpoolers on their way to work find themselves intrigued by a busload of children, all of whom look drugged, on the streets much later than any school bus should be for a simple trip home. They follow the bus to an abandoned school where the children are forced to take part in a ritual to unlock the hidden patterns in the painted diagrams that make up the playground games we all grew up with. Once opened, a portal on the playground unleashes an evil that has spent millennia trying to cross over to our world. Guaranteed you'll never look at a hopscotch grid the same.
