Pamela Austin, a twenty-one-year-old heiress, leaves the Redwood Empire of Northern California to find a normal life close to her nana on the Southern California coast. She meets Joe Pellerini, a handsome and charming officer, her first day on the job as a dispatcher for the Mission Park Police Department. He winks at her and she is hooked. Chris and Julie are friends and co-workers of the couple. The officers suspect that Chris is gay. Julie longs to be with Joe and makes it difficult for the couple to be happy. Suzy, a local barfly, lures the officer to her place and he confesses to Pam. Nana Lee is still caught up in the 50s and wishes to visit Graceland to see where Elvis lived and died.
