It started a year ago when Monet wanted more out of her relationship with Peter. When marriage wasn't on his immediate list of things-to-do, Monet broke up with him. Peter is devastated, and drunkenly finds solace in Jackie, Monet's best friend. When Keith Andrews, a man of wealth and a hidden mental past, makes his debut in Monet's life, he vows to keep Peter and Monet's friends completely away from her. Months later, when the heat has simmered and Monet and Peter are finding their way back to each other, Peter proposes to Monet. He wants to have a double wedding with their friends, Mark and Monica. Peter only wants one woman, even though he is heavily pressured by his family to be a father to his unborn child. Monet, still unable to forgive the past, refuses the proposal. Peter, still feeling the pressure of his family and the heartache of never having Monet back, feels that life couldn't get any worse. He proposes to Jackie, who accepts but refuses to tell him that she has lost their unborn child.
