Carla, a Down syndrome child, spends most of her playtime in her room or in the garden. She jabbers alone with her imaginary friends or dances to music only she can hear. The garden is filled with hundreds of butterflies that fly overhead to cluster on the branches above. Carla notices a fallen butterfly on the ground and gently lifts it up. Her brother embraces the moment and shouts out to a group of friends to come over and see what Carla is holding.
